Dog Day in Chester

Isn't it funny how sometimes when we look forward to something for a long time it can be a little bit of a let down? ( like Christmas...)

So we have compiled a little list for ourselves:

How not to go shopping

• Pick a miserable wet day
• walk 2 miles of doggy doo infested canal path
• take 2 feral Yorkshire Terriers who hate shopping
•  remember coats are for wimps
• don't be prepared to spend money (Barrie) 

Chester centre on a wet day

On our way into Chester we were looking for moorings closer to the town centre for a possible move tomorrow , now having seen it we want to turn round and go back to the Middlewich canal and try that. 

Problem !........ to turn round we need to go down 5 locks  wind  then come back up the five locks taking most of the day.....or......back the boat up the canal to the last winding hole,( narrow boats don't do backwards very well and we don't either!) .......so .....yes reverse wins the day...will let you know how it went tomorrow.

Canal and river trust work boat moored for the night behind us, if they had asked we would have opened our rear doors so they could get a bit closer, thanks fellas!

Walk back along the canal , the cutting of the rock  must have been a tough days work !

To be fair to Chester it has a lot more  to offer than just shopping , we picked a bad day in a poor month, we also enjoy the quite of the rural moorings much more than noisy city centres.
