Bugsworth Basin

We had a lazy, no move day, on Sunday, only a few boats passed us, one of which was a day hire party boat, sensible on the way out despite the wind trying to blow them off course, but on the way back after consuming more than a few drinks, we had to wonder if they would get back so easily, as it happens the wind dropped as they went by, so no dramas, somebody was watching over them.

Looks like they had a good time.

We had planned to move back to the basin again today, we needed water etc, and thought a Tesco heavy stuff shop was a good plan, we do manage quite well without a car, but this Tesco was next to the cut so a chance not to be missed.

Mickey Jay not quite in the car park, but not too bad eh! We met Carol, George and dog Molly as we moored up, Ali walked to Tesco with them while I kept an eye on our dogs and the boat. Carol and George came back without Ali who was only just getting into her shopping stride when they left......oh no !

Carol and George move on in N. B. Rock n Roll, we were just arriving at the water point at this time, also at the point were Geoff and Mags and Chas and Ann, they had obviously heard of our imminent arrival and were all trying to get out quick, to add to the fun and games of all this narrow boat manoeuvring on a windy day was the added challenge of a dozen or so kayaks nervously lingering at the very place we planned on mooring Micky while we waited our turn at the tap, we all managed to sort it out.

Some of the Derby University kayaks studying for a degree in small boat handling ?

We are now in the Bugsworth basin, we are looking forward to exploring the basin and Whaley bridge, we have some sun now to go with the wind, we made it second time, won't even try to set up the T. V.

Bye for now
Baz and Ali.
