Operation Bull....t

Ali is due back on Wednesday, now while we all think we don't make much mess, we do, it's just that after a short time we don't notice the gradual increase of dust etc, and living in a small space with two dogs accelerates this. ( notice my clumsy attempt to blame the dogs )
Now in the right mood I could make the Olympic cleaning team,.......as captain!  but today, well it's raining, misty and miserable, I have even lit the fire !  So I will have the recall my military training, and bluff it, it's just not as easy on a boat, some old tricks don't work,  like.

Excessive bleach left in the plug holes to create a clean smell,...... we don't use bleach on the cut.

A little wax polish applied to the radiators, again a nice traditional aroma,...... but as we have not used the radiators all winter they would more likely smell of warm dust, yuk!

I will have to either resort to doing the job, or trust the old splash too much water on the work tops, and some on myself, to create the illusion of perspiration, look weary, and say I have only just finished the cleaning on meeting the taxi.

I have decided to get a load in the washing machine, I am not usually allowed near the machine for some reason, this is not normally a problem, for we only use it when on the move, and I am safely out of the way clinging to the tiller. Our machine is know as a studio washing machine, ( sales blurb for half the size and twice the price. ) and will only take a 3.5 kg load, well Ali, I have sorted that particular myth, you just have to push the clothes in a lot harder! ( sound of gnashing teeth down in Dorset ) no problem, admittedly I have had to put the detergent in the draw rather that the drum as I don't want to risk opening the door again!!

Damp Day in The Marina

Forward view, the dogs have struggled to adapt to the wooden surface, so a trip to the grass at the end every few hours for us all.

Rear view, the chandlers and gift shop etc are about where the flags are trying to fly.

We now have a tunnel light that points in the general direction of travel, and a new toy for me on the stern, a small second hand spot light, to help in some of the longer tunnels,  tunnels are not all straight and the roof height varies, so a bit of light at the back will help, remember the bow light is 60 feet ahead and the boat blocks a lot of the view and light given from it, we will try it all out soon!!

Right better get the dusters attached to the dogs feet, so
Bye for now,
Baz and the cleaning team.
