We also met Jenny and Ted from N B Silhouette, who moored for a couple of days just behind us,they have more boating experience than us, it was great to chat and swap boating stories. They are now moving back towards Congleton, whereas we are still here, waiting for the new panels to be fitted on Thursday, then we too will move the same way.
We have been taking advantage of this lack of movement to look at the town of Bollington, it is an interesting place and well looked after, the houses are mainly of stone construction, with lots of small terrace property's, with the added attraction of the hills on your doorstep,
Small attractive square of stone cottages, close to the shops and hills.
Well kept cottage, looking almost original, the sat dish is probably not Victorian.
Slightly more imposing cottages, but again in original condition, no nasty plastic windows fitted.
All in the Shadow of White Nancy and other hills, the dogs love a climb up there.
We are now not very good at staying in one place too long, and enjoy cruising to new places. It's fun exploring villages and towns, even the mundane things, such as finding the shops, bins, and dog walks, so I think we will move on Friday, no matter what the weather does, partly for the above reasons, but also we need to find a service area.
We also need a bracket to re-secure our tunnel light, it's held on with a home made bracket at the moment, that I fashioned out of a bit of scrap metal, I know it will fail in the middle of one of the tunnels we have to use soon! The Harecastle tunnel takes at least 30 minutes to cruise through with good lights, without one, all I could do is follow Ali's screams to locate the exit, so lets get it sorted.
Bye for now,
Baz and Ali
