Goosey Gander

After Saturdays long day cruise, we have decided that we should not do long days unless they are a must, as one of the reasons we chose to live on a narrowboat was to slow down - what's the hurry?
In a day or so we will mosey on back to Marple and have another go at mooring there so that Baz can show Ali some of his early childhood haunts. Sunday was another very sunny day with lots of folk out and about in Higher Poynton enjoying the canal sights and The Middlewood Way which is a disused railway route,no doubt a victim of the Beeching Report, but now providing walking, bridleway and cycle way. We sat outside the Boar's Head pub and enjoyed a sunday lunchtime drink whilst pondering what might have happened to the rest of the boar?
Once again we've been having visitors at the side hatch, a vociferous pair of Canada Geese have been tapping the boat and honking with indignation if we don't attend quickly enough, we tried the 'Mark 1 goose deterrent  - see below.....

we showed him/her this packet but this Goose wasn't going to be put off.......

This morning the wind was back and it felt very cold again, mid morning we had a nice surprise when nb Seyella and nb Moore 2 life cruised up and moored in front of us. Geoff invited us on board Seyella to meet Mags, and Ann and Chas came too - we had tea and some great cake and flapjacks, a jolly time was had by all - it's great making friends on the cut. A little later on, nb 'Rock n Roll' ( fellow bloggers) rocked up, we are now looking like a convoy!
Baz's brother Chris and the children came over this afternoon to bring us some important post - thanks Chris  - sorry to be a pain!
As days on the cut go today has been a busy one - we've also had a gentlemen from Braidbar Boats on board investigating 'The Leak'...........more of that later......

Bye for now

Ali and Baz
