Somewhere On The Thames

Ok, we know we are south of Lechlade north of Oxford, so to speak, we think we are between villages of Tadpole and Chimney, but as we can see neither, we are not sure, but who cares anyway ! Its a great spot, remote, quiet, and, we hope legal! A nice man at the locks told us about the mooring, usually you moor on the side of the path, not so here, we are up against fields and no path in sight, so no bikes, oh ! or trips to a pub.

The trip up to here was really nice, very little boating traffic, help at the locks, and cooler cruising weather, the only blot on the landscape was a huge caravan park that seemed to go on for miles, the park looked up together but too many and too close.
Yesterday, Chrissie took Ali and their mum down to see Gavin,  Katie, Isobel and baby Iris down in Devon, there and back in a day ! Chrissie must be tired out today, ( thanks again Chrissie ) Ali was really chuffed to see them all, I got in trouble for referring to Ali as granny Ali, so I better not do that today.

Gavin and Iris, Gav tries and fails not to look too proud

Nanny,  A K A  Ali gets a turn

A more unusual craft, made of wood ! who would have thought it

Lovely boat, don't get the cam net thing going on here, we are aware that the rivers can be more dangerous, but attack from the air ! we hadn't thought of that, will get on to Amazon soonest.

Part of the caravan park

We remember tents that just had a ridge and a pole each end, must be fun to put this up on a wet windy night

We had a longer day than originally planned, this is due to our maps ( Nicholson ) showing taps at all the locks, but the first two, no hosepipes were allowed, we had no intention of filling a 150 gallon tank with a bucket, so had to carry on until we found a water point.

We will probably stay here a couple of nights, see how we feel tomorrow.

Bye for now,
Baz and Ali.
