Three in a boat to Abingdon

We left Eynsham with a guest boater Chrissie, who was travelling  with us to Abingdon, if she survives, she will either love boats or hate them. We had sun all the way ( always like that on boats ) and  help with all but one of the locks. During working hours the locks area usually manned by helpful, friendly staff ( all but one who was a miserable so and so )  We passed through Oxford, both Ali and Chrissie pointing out places they could remember when  growing up.

we passed the boat that had rammed us, we took a photo of them to spook them !

This breed looks familiar, hope the owner picks up

The locks started to get bigger

So do the boats

Chrissie takes a spell on the tiller

The river is beautiful and calm, and seemingly  held together both sides with trees

And the more recent ruins

We reached Abingdon in the early afternoon, and found a fairly tight mooring spot, between to pl;astic boats, the photo above was NOT taken after our manoeuvring in.

So our trek down the Thames has started well, good weather, good company, good gracious it can't last.

Bye for now,
Baz and Ali.
