Ice Ahead

We are still here ! Though a beautiful clear sunny morning, we have heard that a mile up from us has a big frozen stretch where the canal is a little wider and the water is not moving, we decided to stock the cupboards and have ordered some coal and diesel for later today, then we are ready for tomorrow if better.
One major grumble.....a can of beer split in the rucksack while carrying the shopping home, all down my back   I have had to change clothes on our return to the boat....no it's not the clothing but the waste of a good can of ale....sob!

   .
Today we saw some workmen strimming grass in the snow - it's under there somewhere honest!

Barrie is convinced that this snowman is leering at him - we've had such trouble downloading the photo of it to the right place!

We had a nice chat today with some fellow boaters from NB Up Spirits. They were telling us about places they've been and can recommend - very useful info for us. They also said they have done over 3,000 locks so far, makes our couple of dozen seem like small fry.

We have found the best way of saving labour today.................do it tomorrow!

Bye for now
Baz and Ali
