Staircase to Chester

At Eight in the morning the wind was blowing and the rain lashing the side of the boat     we don't do rain so we planned a lazy day..........At nine o'clock the rain stopped and the sun came out.......we were off.
This was just as well for overnight the white countryside view had gone back to green and the dog walk we were planning now had duck swimming along it !

John a boating friend was moving too and as the locks now are double width we travelled together. also as we had not done any staircase locks before   a bit of help was good too.
At the locks to make things that bit more difficult Two boats  were moored abreast at the lock landing stage (  this is an area designated no mooring by the canal and river trust ) causing problems with both landing crew to operate the locks and to boats getting in and out of the locks
( Thanks Anglo Welsh Holiday hire for your lack of consideration to other canal users )

Other than a few problems with the wind blowing us around we had a pleasant cruise to Beeston where we have moored for the night ,we can just see the remains of Beeston castle on the hill to our left if it rains tomorrow and we don't move may go up and have a look round it.
View astern of the Cheshire countryside
As I play with this blog Ali has made cheese scones and is busy making  bread the sun is still shinning but we will wait and see what tomorrow brings

bye for now  Baz n Ali
