The first 3 locks were dispatched in quick time leaving the staircase lock ( 3 locks built as one ) next we have not done many of these well 1 actually and that was only a double lock plus we had help, we have heard tales of woe from boaters some grounding the boat as they had let too much water out etc so Ali was a little nervous for the thinking and muscle was down to her, but she did it all like a pro no dramas and soon we were sat at the top filling our water tank and waiting for the washing machine to finish so we could squeeze just a bit more in.
shows how one lock moves directly to the next too much or too little water causes problems. |
staircase lock ( Grindley brook ) from the top lock. |
our mooring in Whitchurch bit too close to the winding 'ole really. |
Whitchurch seems to be another struggling town centre. |
We are now waiting to see the Family who have checked into their hotel and are resting after a long drive
so we will sign off for now.
Baz and Ali
