After a really sunny, nice day yesterday we had to move toward Whitchurch to meet some of Ali's family, this involved 6 locks and 1 lift bridge so we set off early to be sure things went our way.
The first 3 locks were dispatched in quick time leaving the staircase lock ( 3 locks built as one ) next we have not done many of these well 1 actually and that was only a double lock plus we had help, we have heard tales of woe from boaters some grounding the boat as they had let too much water out etc so Ali was a little nervous for the thinking and muscle was down to her, but she did it all like a pro no dramas and soon we were sat at the top filling our water tank and waiting for the washing machine to finish so we could squeeze  just a bit more in.
shows how one lock moves directly to the next too much or too little water causes problems.
staircase lock ( Grindley brook ) from the top lock.
our mooring in Whitchurch bit too close to the winding 'ole really.
Whitchurch seems to be another struggling town centre.
So we are moored on the small Whitchurch arm, this was fun too as we had to wind twice to get up the arm and moor.
We are now waiting to see the Family who have checked into their hotel and are resting after a long drive
so we will sign off for now.
