We had a very quiet day yesterday and took things easy, today we woke up to the wet stuff so rain has 'stopped play', after all the lengthy cruising days recently it's not a bad thing to sit back and not do.......well very much at all!
We are moored about a mile from Marbury village centre. There are 2 Meres in the village and it really is a lovely spot. The church is on a hill and the view of Big Mere from the churchyard is well worth a photograph.
The pics were taken by Ali using the old camera, on the first day we were here, which luckily was sunny. Taking photos with the Yorkies straining on the leads in one hand and camera in other was not easy!
There's been about 6 boats go by so far today - we usually hear an engine in the distance and one of us will say 'boat...', then we feel a gentle rocking of our boat, which stays gentle if the other boater kindly slows down on passing. Ali can't resist looking out of the window, calling the boats name out to Baz and waving to the crew of the other boat - even after almost 5 months of our new lifestyle this little ritual still makes us smile.
Baz has been making plans to increase the effectiveness of the solar panels, but what Ali wants to know is: will having more solar energy mean that we can squeeze a teeny, tiny dishwasher on-board Micky Jay? Since moving she is now on her 4th set of Marigolds and the colour definitely doesn't suit her!
Bye for now
Ali and Baz
