We Don't Do Rain

Well we do now,   not by choice you understand,  but we got more than a bit damp today and there was not a lot we could do about it as we were in the second of four locks when it started and had to finish the flight,by which time we were too wet to care so putting the hood back up and mooring up for the day were non starters, so we pressed on to Nantwich where the paths are dry and the chippy beckons us. We will have to get used to street lights again and traffic noise but at least we have places to go if the rain continues as forecast for the next few days.

Today we have done 10 locks and 3 lift bridges ( one of which was the traffic stopper with lights, barrier and bells ) in about 9 miles. We thought we may stop early at Wrenbury but the mud had waited there for us so we pressed on.

We bumped into (not literally!) our boating friend John near Swanley Locks - had a quick catch up, he's planning to cruise to the Pontcysytilite Aqueduct - he's welcome!

So we carried on to Nantwich and off the Llangollen, we have already commented that the water is a muddy colour now, unlike the clear Llangollen water but on the whole we are glad to be back at our start point ready for the next challenge/ adventure.
Sorry no pictures today mainly because we didn't want to get the camera's wet , it's nearly five o'clock and we have to re light the fire, the first time it has gone out in nearly 5 months, when we are cold and wet of course!! After which it will be shower time as all that travel will have given us plenty of hot water and maybe a trip to a watering hole as it is Friday.

Bye for now.

Baz and Ali.
