Phil soon to be an old man !!

"Happy Birthday Phil "

Here pictured on one of his many seafaring jollys, at the moment he is still reeling from his lavish house warming gift of a hand made dish cloth, these are special limited edition cloths, made by Ali, Phil is now the proud owner of cloth number 8 and is taking the responsibility in his stride, although he was speechless on initially receiving it. We hope to see him in a couple of weeks so will get you a beer then, have a great day.

If yesterday was a lazy day, then today has been a holiday, we have spent a lot of the day reading, Ali made a couple of cakes, as we had asked " the neighbours " round for tea and cakes this afternoon, it was good to be able to talk about life on the cut with people who have more experience than us ( not hard to find them ) and exchange tips and tales plus a few books!
A nice time was had by all, both Baz and Ali were caught drinking other peoples tea, we should not really invite guests if we can not bear to share our meagre provisions!

Yesterday we had the man from Braidbar boats come and take a look at the leak problem, the leak is not a hull issue ( we hope! ) but one of an internal system, he too looking at the cabin bilge thinks we have one, but finding it is not easy as most of the pipe work is concealed behind wall linings and floors and the boat is designed to be lower at the stern, so water will show up there from wherever the actual leak is. We thought he was coming back today with a carpenter, to cut some access holes in the floor, the idea being,

1     allow the base to dry out.

2     see how far forward the water is, then we can check back from the dry area.

But they have as yet not turned up, we think they have probably had enough already, who can blame them.

Ali is out with the others walking the dogs ( the pack ) she thinks I am doing the washing up! but I am sure I can find more important things to do, later we are going aboard  N. B. rock n roll for some drinks which will be nice.
So I had better get a move on, dishes won't do themselves you know!

For Phil

Bye for now,
Baz and Ali.

  1. Haha! I'm famous! Rosie says that Archie's photo is better than mine - bloody cheek. Thanks for the birthday wishes and for giving me the headline photo. Dishcloth is safe and well and was an exceptional help cleaning up after the birthday party at the weekend. Lots of love to you and the dogs.
