I have carefully planned the next few days, we have enough plates, knifes, pans etc to last for the four days,if a little care is used, however finding the kitchen sink on Saturday may be troublesome, the fridge is now well stocked with pies ( two different fillings to keep my diet varied ) and a selection of beer.
Boat Spot Paintwork Problems
We have been looking at the damage caused by bridges that move just as you get close, and locks that are not as straight as they first appear. Boating is a contact sport, we knew this, but it still hurts when you graze a stone bank, or somebody, ( won't mention the name of the boat that hit us twice in two days ) runs into you.
The wind is often a culprit, ( we know as we found out the hard way ) especially if you have an empty water tank in the bow, one of the few reasons we would want to move when the wind is blowing .
Micky's port bow, few scrapes and scratches, the bubbled paint is where I put the wrong stuff on, while trying to hide the evidence of my close encounters with solid stone, on numerous occasions.
The fenders are also showing signs of wear, not an easy life between rock and a hard place.
Some of the dangers of cut life, come as a surprise!
These steps are even steeper than they look here, a plus, if you stumble going up, as you can't fall forward, however, the same can not be said if you trip going down, next stop casualty department ! They can be found leading from the canal aqueduct in Bollington to the main road, or avoided if you are smart.
Well the dogs are still sulking in their beds, so a walk will cheer them up, guess that's the next job then.
Bye for now,
Baz and Ali the dogs.
Sorry to take her away from you Baz! We (i.e. Katie) will look after her well!
