Things that Go " Bump " In The Night

We had moored on the aqueduct in Bollington again, only a few yards down from where we had on the way up, but there was a difference ! When walking on the boat, now and again there is a thump from the bottom or is it the side? We checked the side to see if we were moored a bit on the loose side,  all seems ok , but we put some larger fenders on just in case.......... no difference. In the morning we pulled the boat backwards a few feet and re-tied the ropes, Ali tramped heavily up and down the boat (what's new) and all seemed well - however this afternoon the mystery noise has returned - never mind we'll probably move tomorrow.

Phil has arrived today on a flying visit from London, so first thing saw us taking part in some boat admin (cleaning) prior to his arrival, we didn't quite finish so introduced him to some important bits of equipment!!

It's always great to see family and we've had a  great day catching up with all the news and regaling Phil with all our boating tales. It's also our 13th wedding anniversary today so we'll all have a meal out tonight to celebrate.

Phil poses with the Yorkshire Terrorists - Archie is hoping to sneak back to civilisation in Phil's rucksack!

Thanks to Phil for reviewing and revamping the Blog for us, talk about a busman's holiday.....

Bye for now

  1. Ha ha watch out Phil! If you prove too useful you could find yourself kidnapped and tethered to NB Mickey Jay along with the Yorkies!
