Third Time Lucky

For once we stuck to our plan and it's worked out well. We woke to indifferent weather, grey with a hint of rain the minute we would take the hood down and start to cruise, and to make it worse our old friend gusty wind was back on the scene, but we set off despite all this, our aim, to finally moor in Marple !
On our way past our previous mooring we spotted Seyella, the rockers and the lifers, moored next to Compass Rose, Baz was tempted to shout and warn them of the  U boat threat but thankfully thought better of it (  name of ship from the book and film The Cruel Sea, if you didn't know, or care ) as we doubt it would be the first time somehow.
It was sad leaving the well kept Bugsworth Basin and then seeing the poor state of repair the canal is on route to Marple and indeed some of the banks and moorings in Marple, Bugsworth, a motivated group of hardworking volunteers and the other well enough said I guess.

We pass Seyella and company on a grey Wednesday.

Ali is now convinced  that this is her Birthday present.......shame.

passing by, a narrow boat kitted out for disabled day trippers.

view of the Goyt valley as the canal meanders along one side, Kinder Scout is out there somewhere.

Across from our mooring, the C &RT water point and yard, tasteful eh!

Our mooring, just under the bridge is Marple junction and a flight of 16 locks!

We are very much looking forward to exploring Marple tomorrow - Baz lived here as a very young boy and still has some clear memories of the Town, it'll be interesting to see how much has changed.

Bye for now
Baz and Ali
