Three Ways

We are having a rest day, by rest I mean boat admin of course, Ali is doing the floors, and I cleaning and polishing the outside hull plus a little touch up painting, It's still classed as a day off, but a day off from cruising is perhaps a better description.

A two minute walk from our mooring is the junction of the Trent and Mersey canal with the Coventry canal, our thoughts of canal junctions were that of busy noisy places, probably in town centres, but as you can see from the pictures, it's really nice here.

We are having a day of sunshine that threatens to turn to rain a any time, it is warm and ideal for a spot of bank sitting, the people two boats down have been living aboard for 18 years have been everywhere, on asking what their favourite canals were, they replied  " all of them , we have just loved doing it , and would do it all again,"  they are nearly 80 years old and are now preparing to go back ashore for that reason only.

Shop and pub, situated at the junction.

C & R.T. offices, good to see they don't waste our money on flashy new  vans.

The offices are set in this pretty courtyard, with cafe.

To the right Coventry,or carry on down the T & M

If you are reading this, and steering your boat, you will have missed the turn!

View From The Side Hatch

Side hatch is facing the tow path here, view to the rear.

And to the front, good dog running spot.

We plan to move on tomorrow, wind and rain permitting, the junction of the canals does not look a difficult one, we just have to remember to open a swing bridge to get onto the Coventry canal, if we forget a loud bang will soon remind us!

Ali is baking some bread, and I am taking some stage pictures of it for a future Ali's galley, so ..

 Bye for now,

Baz and Ali.
