We moved off our ideal mooring at 6.30 a.m. just to try and beat the heat, we needed water and the next tap was at Lower Heyford again only a few miles away, but best done early.
We have also been having problems with the composting loo, we could smell it when sat on the bank, not very nice for us or others, it was nearly enough to put me off my beer ! ---nearly, we think we have sorted it now, time will tell.
We are now moored on our own, a few miles south of Lower Heyford, just below Dashwood lock, probably a one nighter, with a cruise to Thrupp tomorrow.
Micky and Jay meet some freinds
We own a lock it would seem, a masterpiece of 19th century engineering, or a damp hole ?
Either way, with the Allen name comes safety equipment
In the heat tunnels become a haven of cool air and shade
Our Mooring Tonight
To the rear, bridge and lock can just be seen
Canal side
To our front, so close to shade !!!
We may re start the cookery spot, Baz has been trying to think of a suitable name for it - most of the suggestions seem to be on a theme based around 'Grannies'! Oh he does like to wind Ali up!
We are now showered and trying to stay cool, now and again we get a gentle breeze, so nice, living in a metal box can be very warm, but I would't swap it.
Bye for now,
Baz and Ali.
Thanks for the shout out guys! Can't wait for you to meet iris!
