Mixed weather day here - there was a sprinkling of snow overnight quickly washed away by really heavy rain, followed by periods of sunshine. Baz wasn't sure what to do first - batten down to keep out the heavy showers or get up on the roof to ensure the solar panels were at optimum angle to receive any available power from the sun. We are hoping for a more settled weather day tomorrow as we plan to move further north - Chester bound.
Boat Spot
An occasional look in detail at parts of our narrowboat (for those who might be interested)
Starting at the Bow (the pointy bit), a small space fulfilling lots of functions: it's an outdoor/indoor area as we have a cratch cover fitted providing both seating and storage. Below the deck we have a stainless steel freshwater tank holding approx 150 gallons. Immediately in front of the tank is our bowthruster (this is a small propeller which helps the boat with manoeuvring) and at the very point of the boat is the gas locker where we store 2 cylinders of propane for cooking use. In the photo you can see the small seats, the storage under these house such items as an anchor - apparently a 'must' if you cruise on rivers.Storage on a boat is obviously at a premium and sometimes the cratch area is used for coal and logs.
We've enjoyed our stay in Nantwich but are looking forward to moving on. Bye for now.
Baz and Ali
