Meander To A Marina

We have decided to take a break from the boat, pop Micky in a marina for a few days, hire a car and do a little visiting. So today's trip was a few miles further down the cut to Aynho and moor, we are on a line mooring, which means just like we normally moor, only we have to pay, we do have a handy tap, but little else is different other than better boat security, we trust !
We now have a small car, having not driven for 9 months it was strange to be back on the roads, I must remember to go faster than our usual 4 mph, I feel sure that should we forget, some nice person will quickly remind us.
The trip lasted only 3hours with 3 locks to drop, but the sun had taken it's toll on us, by the time we were tied up we both had caught the sun and we were ready for cool showers, not often have wanted a cool shower since being on the boat, nice.

A pleasant cruise, with a little shade, thankfully, the dogs needed it.

The Oxford canal and the river Cherwell meet here, the river goes under the bridge on the left.

An unusual lock, could be a double lock for smaller craft, the dogs check it out.

Free moorings to the right, we are on the left, not too bad.

View to the rear, and beyond the bridge, the boat yard.

Our view from the side hatch, we know there are trains out there, we can hear them !

We are packing the car in the morning, then we are off to find a traffic jam to sit in, well that's more like our normal speed of travel !
The blog may go quiet for a few days, but we will keep you posted soon.

Bye for now,
Baz and Ali.
