Late night callers

Last night we had a new twist to tapping ducks, at about 7pm we were relaxing after our meal when we heard the tap tap tap on the side of the boat, on going up onto the stern with a torch 2 pairs of mallards were waiting for food, it was cold and snowing and they looked desperate  so we fed them by torch light......I know soppy pair ......later I found out it was our breakfast they had eaten !  Ali promised to get up early and make some more, she has made all the bread from scratch since we moved aboard last autumn  as well as cakes and puddings etc

Micky jay in the snow, note that the solar panels have been swept clear of snow.....well you have got to be an optimist haven't you ?

Evidence that the canal and rivers trust gritting boats had been at work through the night ! unlike the local roads the canal can be seen snow free !!

It's been a quiet day, mainly spent on the boat keeping out of the wind and snow. Baz did venture out just after lunch to top up the water containers - about a mile round trip,on foot of course!
The boat is warm and we are snug.
Bye for now
Baz and Ali
