We were having a bit of breakfast this grey morning when we heard a metallic tapping on the boat, thinking somebody was trying to attract attention I checked both ends of the boat and found nobody ? the noise continued......found after a while it was coming from water side... on opening the side hatch we found Two ducks waiting to be fed, they have learnt to tap on the side of boats and wait by the hatch for their breakfast so we had to comply!

The question everybody seems to ask is " are you keeping warm?" well we are ( touch wood ), we have a multi fuel stove in the lounge area that has been out only once since we moved aboard and that was so I could clean the flue.
We also have oil central heating that we have not had to use in anger .....yet! We are hearing of a cold spell coming so we may soon fire it up, and hang around here near to water points and loo emptying facilities etc. --- we do not fancy getting frozen in on the cut too far in the sticks, peaceful and scenic yes.....no food , water, fuel etc. is a big No, especially from Ali.
