Don't Look Down

Well we have done it, crossed the aqueduct,  we were both a bit on the quiet side and as we got closer it was tense, you tell yourself that boats have crossed it for a hundred years without drama but it does little to help. The channel is little wider than the boat, as the wind and current bump the boat  into the no path side, it feels like one hard bump and the cast iron side would just break, we took no photos as we were both holding on too tight and not looking down we both felt relief when we reached the other side, the only problem is that we have to go back the same way!
We felt it's been quite hard work getting to Llangollen - the flow of the water against the boat, the shallow and sometimes very narrow channels and the biting cold of the days we have cruised. Now we are here and have the luxury of an electric hook up (but no T.V. reception - doh!)  we are looking forward to exploring the town, seeing the Horseshoe Falls, and weather permitting walking the Yorkshire Terrorists in the Welsh hills.

Narrow channel - beware of oncoming boats!

We have lots of hot water so 'Hollywood showers' this evening, might even watch the whole series of 'Band of Brothers'!

Bye for now
