The downside of lighter mornings is that the dogs have managed to bring their walk and breakfast forward by about 45 minutes, so our day is now starting about 7.a.m. We had coffee and scrambled eggs then set off to Horseshoe falls and the source of the Llangollen. Despite the grey day we enjoyed the fresh air and exercise, at least it didn't rain. It was a four mile round trip - all on the level, we might have to do something about that tomorrow!
The source of the Llangollen, where it meets the river Dee
Horseshoe falls , not at all what we were expecting.
River Dee full flow.
And now in a calmer spot, pretty idyllic even on a grey February morning.
The rest of the day was spent doing the washing, with water and power plentiful it was a luxury, and as Baz could not resist picking up a pile of logs, sat looking lonely on the canal bank on our way here he had to chop/saw them up to get them into the cratch and top box. A fellow boater told us that a coal delivery is coming tomorrow so we jumped on that bandwagon, made a quick phone call and our coal stocks will soon be replenished.
With any luck there will be sunny intervals tomorrow so a walk up into the welsh hills is planned.
Bye for now
Baz and Ali
Not quite Niagara, but very pretty nonetheless.
