Locked Out

As we mentioned yesterday, we are not able to move forward due to emergency work being carried out on the next lock, we went down to have a look at what was going on, they had nearly finished the job and we could move now if it wasn't for the rain.
problem being sorted  quick time.

After much debate Ali has decided that we will do the Llangollen canal next before the silly season starts, however as it is closed until the 22nd of the month we will have to hang around a bit first.  Hello Nantwich again I think, come to think of it some fish and chips would do nicely......Hurrah ! for Nantwich here we come.

BOAT SPOT        The engine 'ole

We are still not convinced that our batteries are preforming as they should, before spending £500.00 pounds on a new set of four  we think we are best to take them out one at a time and see if we can find a bad one.
This is not as easy as on a car as they are in the engine 'ole and hard to get at and work on them, it's jobs like this I wish we had an engine room rather than the modern engine 'ole.
view of our Shire 45 seen from the 'ole.
seen from deck level the batteries are at 3 o' clock  sat on a ledge between the deck and side  of hull.
We plan to move tomorrow, turn round at King's Lock on the Trent and Mersey and potter back up the Middlewich Branch towards Nantwich - weather permitting.

Bye for now

Baz and Ali
