As the daylight strengthened we made our planned early start, first we had to go down two locks onto the Trent and Mersey canal to fill up water etc and then turn round back onto the Middlewich branch of the Shroppie and head for Nantwich.
It has taken 7 hours non stop cruising and 6 locks but we are now here in Nantwich again, it would have taken 15 mins in a car but hey that's not the point, for us anyway.

Filling up with water on the Trent and Mersey, hard left is the Middlewich Canal |

Former Fly horse stables tastefully converted to a canalside house |

Horses evicted from stable in above pic?......harsh times! |

Hopefully our planned destination when it re-opens in late February |
An enjoyable day's cruising - sunny at times, wind a bit chilly. Barrie is pleased with himself having been complimented by a fellow boater on his boat handling skills at Minshull lock. Looking forward to hot showers and a beer!
Bye for now
Baz and Ali
It was super to see you guys yesterday with the sun shining down on us, and SO nice to go on a mini cruise on your boat. I loved seeing how the boat worked, and coming across the heron. Mum loved it as well. This is from the sister whose name begins with R, and has just managed to sort out a new, hopefully totally anonymous google account!!!!
