In Like A Lion

There has been a very blue sky and bright sunshine today but the wind is fierce and very cold! The boat is moving about quite a lot as wind is hitting us from astern, pushing us forward on the mooring lines, then we move back as the gust stops, so glad we are not at sea for neither of us would be eating food in this weather.
We walked to town to pick up a few things from the shops and take back the box set of D.V.D's that turned out to be a box set of books ( note to self ....take your reading glasses with you next time !) The few things turned into a small car load of course, what a pity we don't have a small car any more to put it in, so as a reward for the carrying to come, a fish and chip lunch was suggested by both and duly approved by the same.
Ali forces down a portion of super fish and chips....life can be tough on the cut !

When we finally got back to the boat and our arms had shrunk back to their original length, we thought we had better go for a walk to work off that lunch and look for photo's for the blog, of course all the local wildlife knows we have a new camera that we are itching to use and on seeing us they pose for us right up until we get the thing out of the camera bag then fly/run away -  we would swear that one particular crow was laughing loudly as it flew, so we have little to show for all our efforts, that's the story we are sticking to.

Old canal worker's cottage now very des res.

Winding 'ole near Nantwich - scene of icy shenanigans earlier in the year!

As previously mentioned, because we've had moorings at Nantwich before we are a little light on fresh blog material - please bear with us, we plan to be on the Trent and Mersey, then the Macclesfield canal from about the middle of next week.

Bye for now
Baz and Ali
