Nantwich Basin

We have stayed in Nantwich an extra day so we can speak to a chap at the marina who may be able to help us expand our solar power arrangement, we have had great success on sunny days charging the domestic battery bank, not needing to start the main engine at all, this is good because it helps keep the engine use hours down, and as we have to change the oil and filters every 250 hours saves money on servicing as well as  fuel costs. we currently have two 100 watt panels and are thinking of putting another two on, this should charge the batteries even on a dull day...we hope ?
Ali has gone back to the shops for the stuff we forgot yesterday....well that's the tale I got, I have not seen a Belgian waffle shop here, I should have paid more attention when in town if its there Ali will find it or an ice cream parlour you can be sure, the sun has gone in again so maybe not after all.

SOME PICTURES OF THE MARINA  BASIN WORK SHOPS AND CAFE

Impressive wood sculpture of a narrow boat pulling horse on the tow path next to the marina with Archie mucking about , the Marina does most things, you can buy every thing from a packet of screws to a custom built narrow boat we stick to the packet of screw type choices we hope !! today we used the laundrette service to catch up on the bedding mainly for the huge tumble driers they have.
Tomorrow we plan to move onto the Middlewich arm of the system ready to meet Richard who will service the engine etc on Monday next week, then we will start to move down the T and M towards the Macclesfield canal.
bye for now
Baz and Ali.
