THINGS WE LIKE.
The sofa and fridge are not far from each other
New view when we want one
Relaxed dress code ( scruffy )
Can only drink dark beer in boaters pubs ( order a larger at your own risk )
Black is the only colour to wear, as everything ends up black anyway with coal dust grease etc.
We do like the cut gossip and tall tales
Coal fire is great.
The peace and solitude when you want it.
Sampling local cuisine ( pub meals )
Love all the hiding places to store things on the boat.
THINGS WE DON'T LIKE
Sofa and fridge are not far from each other,
Long hair and facial hair is compulsory ( both sexes )
Can not wear high heel shoes on the tow path, ( says Ali .....honest! )
Tattoos and piercings are part of cut culture,
Being woken up by ducks at dawn demanding food.
Do not like scare mongers and old miseries.
Don't like finding and carrying the coal for the fire.
We do miss seeing friends and family.
The boaters favourite " Fray Bentos " tinned pies.....yet!
Hate trying to remember the places we hid things in the day before.
Archie and Bella took prompt action on hearing that Ali was taking the helm.
We aim to move on tomorrow if I survive the above comment, the plan is to get the engine serviced on Monday and move into for us, new waters.
Bye for now
Baz and Ali.
Hey guys John and I used to eat those Fray Bentos tinned pies regularly when we were first married. I still remember how slimy the bottom layer of pastry was but if you are naive and hungry enough it all tastes great Lol! I also remember their little individual tinned steak and kidney puddings and especially the time John gave is brother food poisoning bysimmering is simmering for hours while we waited for him to turn up, in spite of my warnings. ( I like to think I was SLIGHTLY less naive when it came to Food H and S) LOl !
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend,
Lots of love,
Chrissie
