R & R at Scholar Green

We really like the spot we have found, it's perfect for a few days off, we know that sounds crazy because all of our days are now days off, but 3 days cruising takes it out of you, especially Ali with all the locks, we hope that one day she will take the tiller in the locks, but she doesn't fancy it yet. The fire went out last night, I blame myself for not waking Ali up to put coal on, still it was a fairly tropical 6 degrees when we woke up so I don't understand what the complaints were about, there was even talk of the central heating being switched on for the first time this winter! We did a little exploring earlier and found a small marina which is handy, a well stocked Co-op store -  even better, but best of all there is a pub! it's still standing! and will open for the sale of beer later. ( we have not been in a pub now since the 22nd of Feb ) and we hope to pop in over the next few days.

Some shots of our moorings, you can see the type of neighbour we have to put up with here, still we try not to pre judge and take people as they come.
Yesterdays comment about my brother successfully flushed him out, he is hiding up in Scotland at the moment  but has promised to return ! see you soon Chris and family.

Bye for now,
Baz and Ali.

  1. Glad you ve found such a lovely spot to have a break from cruising. (Cruising does nt seem quite the appropriate word with all those locks to negotiate, I m sure you could think of a better one Lol!) I loved the great pics, talk about'To the Manor Born ha ha I wonder what antics that place has seen. Its been really cold here last few days and a bitter wind today too. Hopefully due to warm up sometime this weekend X
