Snow Patrol

We called this one " snow patrol " because we went through a heavy snow shower, enough to cover me in the  white stuff on the helm and with a wind blowing in my face seeing was not easy, Ali took some excellent photos of this including one of Archie licking a snow flake off his nose, after loading them and viewing, we seem to have lost the lot ( Ali not a happy Easter bunny ) we do not get it, they must be here somewhere!
Any way we spotted a place to moor and as we were getting cold and wet put the pins in and the kettle on, the sun now came out, not being the sorts to miss a drying opportunity the washing line was unpacked and set up -  shortly after filling the lines the snow returned, we gave up, and cooked our main meal instead.
The spot we have stopped at, quite by chance, is really nice, not an official mooring, but as we are stocked up and need nothing, just what we like, peace and views.

Port view,     hills still  covered with snow.

Starboard view,     grazing meadow comes down to the cut.

view astern with similar ahead, the dogs love it, dry towpath to chase around on.

We are about a mile from Bosley Locks. Nearby is a Fell called 'The Cloud' - it's over 1000ft high and is topped with remains of ancient earthworks. There are  several footpaths up to the top from Bridge's 57,61or 71 - we are moored just below Bridge 62, so if we stay here long enough and feel energetic we might take a gentle stroll up there!

Bye for now
Baz and Ali
