Out of Towners

After a hectic couple of days, we have left Banbury and all it's shopping delights, mainly because there is no more space on the boat to put things, Ali will be suffering shopping withdrawal for a few days, as the cards cool down again.

We just want to move a few miles down the cut, and get away from the crowds and noise for a few days, you get to like being on your own on the cut, with it's peace and quiet, and being thrust right into the middle of a town is a shock after this, still we have to be flexible, as we will have to go through some big noisy places as we continue to explore the canal network.

We left early, with the rush hour noise covering any noise we might make, our first 100 yards included a lift bridge, lock and a water fill, then a hot coffee and away.

Whatever the aquatic term for tip toeing is, we did it past these sleeping boats leaving Banbury

Looking back from our first lock off the day at the quay shopping centre

Sky might not be blue, but the fields are getting there.

Breath in and heads down,

Today's mooring

To our rear, still a grey day but we are out of the town.

To the front a small farm, lots of life in the reeds, Bella will be chuffed.

Space again.

We may sit here a couple of days as we plan our next moves, we may loop Oxford and then point north again to try and find less busy waters for the summer boating rush, or onto the Thames to pick up the Kennet and Avon canal at Reading. we are not good at deciding what and where to go next, so much to do!

Bye for now,
Baz and Ali.
